HELLO SUMMER Watermelon tier tray kit. (unfinished wood only)
Contains the cut pieces for 4 different watermelon themed projects perfectly sized for tier trays.
Our tier tray kits are made from a laser cutter. We sell them unfinished in either an MDF Or Birch plywood finish. Please see the unfinished image in the pictures for what you will receive.
You get to finish them in a way that matches your personal decor.
You can also purchase them, paint/decorate them and resell them on your shop should you choose that route.
Both the Birch and MDF paint beautifully. If you are looking for a wood grain that you can also stain, choose the Birch. If you are looking for something that you have the option to apply vinyl on smoothly please choose MDF.
Please note that in many cases the pieces can be interchanged. Please also note that all painted pictures are suggestions only. Props on trays are not included just the bare wood.
Tier Tray Cut Out Kit
(Raw MDF, or Birch)
Our tier tray kits are laser cut. The edges will have a dark charred look to them. You can choose to paint them or not. We package our cut outs in their original wood in order to protect some of the delicate pieces during handling. They do have transfer tape and packing tape on most of the pieces to protect during cutting and shipping. Whether an activity for kids, the family or yourself, these kits are a fantastic way to be creative and add some pop to your space.
Step 1: Remove the clear tape that holds the cut out in its protective board.
Step 2: Remove the pieces from their protective board. Be careful on fragile words to try and push them out evenly. If they do not come out smoothly please use something small like a weeding tool, or paperclip to gently press them out.
Step 3: We leave the transfer tape on the wood after we cut (the tape serves the purpose of reducing charring on the wood from the laser) Please remove all transfer tape now. Unless you are using it as a paint guide you should remove it now. Either way, please remove it before painting. You can use a weeding tool or your fingernail to remove. We find weeding tools to be easier with a pair of tweezers holding any tiny pieces.
Step 4: Place all of your pieces together how you want to see them completed
Step 5: Paint as desired to match your theme. Let dry completely
Step 6: Use the adhesive of your choice. We have used wood glue, Gorilla Glue contact cement, and E6000 successfully. A toothpick can help you get the glue on smaller areas.
Let dry completely.
Step 7: Decorate your tray!
Notes: Vinyl applies to our MDF cutouts much easier than Baltic Birch. If you want to use pattern or solid vinyl to get a certain look please consider purchasing the MDF version. Both paint beautifully. The birch will have a wood grain while the MDF will be smooth.
